How to be an honest naturist

Naturists are people who say, sometimes quite vociferously, that the naked body is natural and decent and there is nothing embarrassing about being naked. We also say that the genitals are not obscene.

And yet, if you look at naturist websites and magazines, what do you find? As one of my friends who is not a naturist once told me, 'Naturists are people who turn their backs to the camera'. What a just indictment of many of our naturist communities. He should have added had he known that naturists are people who ban the camera when they have a gathering.

But these are dishonest naturists - people who loudly proclaim the decency of nudity but behave like prudes in Saudi Arabia when it comes to nude photography. These are people who will do all they can to cross their legs to conceal their genitals or turn their backs to the camera. Just look at any naturist website and ask yourself how many photos are taken from behind. 95% perhaps or maybe even 100%.

Ever since I first joined social naturism, I decided that I would be honest about my naturism. I would never conceal my face or body when a photo is being taken. The stereotypical Asian is one who is always snapping selfies and I must say the stereotyping is largely true. If an Asian naturist suddenly stops taking selfies because he's nude, how honest can he be as a naturist? So, if you see a proliferation of my photos in my blog, just understand that I don't differentiate between my clothed pics and my nude pics. I can't be honest if I post thousands of my clothed pics but the moment I'm naked, I don't post my own photos or worse, if I do what many naturist bloggers do - post OTHER people's nude photos or conceal his face when his pics are posted or conceal his body in one way or another.

Here's a photo taken at my first naturist gathering. I was honest from the very start - I didn't once turn my back to the camera and still proclaim to the world that nudity is natural This is how a clothed person would have posed for a photo and this is how a naked person should too, if he's an honest naturist.

Hi rick, I agree that it's always good not to be ashamed of our own nudity. A lot of people who say they are naturists are in fact ashamed of showing themselves naked. They don't mind going naked but they freak out when they see a camera. It's as if nudity is such a dreadful crime. LOL

I wholeheartedly agree. On my own naturist blog, I feature a nude photo of myself in the sidebar in which my face and my genitals can clearly be seen. I have other pictures of myself on the site.

Several years ago when I first posted a nude selfie on my blog, many people told me how brave I was to do that. I didn't see it as anything brave but as the logical thing for someone with a naturist blog to do. This is who I am, a naturist. I'm comfortable in my skin and see no reason to hide in the shadows.
